From Garlic Fields to Global Tables: ShunDi’s Sustainable Farming Journey

2025-09-16

At the end of August 2025, ShunDi, together with PUR China, hosted a Regenerative Agriculture Training and Mobilization Conference in Heze, Shandong, one of China’s major garlic-producing regions. Farmer representatives from surrounding towns gathered to learn sustainable, regenerative farming practices—exploring new ways to improve both yields and quality while preserving the land.

At the end of August 2025, ShunDi, together with PUR China, hosted a Regenerative Agriculture Training and Mobilization Conference in Heze, Shandong. Farmer representatives from surrounding towns gathered to learn sustainable, regenerative farming practices—exploring new ways to improve both yields and quality while preserving the land.

The event featured a garlic cultivation expert with years of hands-on research experience. From fertilization, seed selection, irrigation, mulching, and topdressing to harvest timing and sales strategies, the expert offered practical, down-to-earth guidance. The training received an enthusiastic response from participants.

Some farmers who had already joined the regenerative agriculture project shared their personal experiences: “Now we don’t have to move every few years, leaving our homes behind.” “This project really brings us benefits, we can rely on it!” These voices have become the driving force behind the project’s steady growth, inspiring more farmers to recognize the value of regenerative agriculture.

Launched in January 2024, the project has already shown promising results in improving soil health, reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers, and increasing both yield and quality. By adopting scientific management and organic methods, farmers have not only lowered input costs but also harvested higher quality produce.

The project has expanded rapidly—from 150 mu (about 25 acres) in its first year to 1,100 mu (about 180 acres) this year—spreading outward like ripples as more farmers voluntarily join. This growth highlights the project’s strong local impact and demonstrates ShunDi’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and fulfilling its social responsibility.

At ShunDi, we believe the power of green development lies in every piece of land and every farmer. By advancing regenerative agriculture, we are not only helping farmers increase their income but also creating a healthier, more sustainable legacy for the future.

In today’s world, where climate change and food security are global concerns, these efforts matter more than ever. From a single clove of garlic to entire fields, ShunDi and farmers are sowing seeds of green hope together. We are confident this effort will continue to grow, benefiting more families and reaching wider communities around the world.
